Card-based entry and meal tracking I built for my vocational high school; it served 120–150 people a day for three school years.
Q-PASS is a hardware-backed RFID access control and meal-tracking system that ran in production at Haydarpaşa MTAL for three school years, serving 120–150 people a day. Custom 3D-printed RFID reader units run C++ microcontroller firmware, bridging over RS-232/USB serial interfaces to a Python background service and a PHP/MySQL web management dashboard for access logging and meal quota tracking.
For three school years at a public school, Q-PASS handled daily entry and cafeteria access for 120–150 people. Scanning RFID credentials triggers hardware interrupts on microcontrollers; structured serial frames are sent over dedicated serial bridges to a local Python daemon that validates authorization against the MySQL database.
Key Highlights
